In what geographic area does Robbie Jones Investigations, LLC, serve?
We are located in the Columbia/Lexington/Chapin area of the Midlands of SC. We serve Richland, Lexington, Newberry, Orangeburg, Fairfield, Calhoun, Kershaw, Saluda, and Sumter counties, as well as other areas of South Carolina and the Southeast.
I have never hired a private investigator before. What do I need to do?
Few people have ever hired an investigator. Tell us what is going on that inspired you to call us. Be open about it. What you say will be held in the strictest confidence. You will find us to be understanding, helpful, empathic, and, especially, committed to getting answers for you.
Do I pay before the investigation starts?
Yes. A retainer is required before we begin an investigation.
The amount of a retainer is based upon services requested. The payment of the retainer initiates the investigation. All costs are deducted from the retainer during the investigation.
What payment options do you offer?
You can pay by cash, check, money order, or credit card.
How often is a person wrong about a spouse having an affair?
Seldom. People suspect their loved one for good reason, usually. Most of the time the client is proven correct. You are doing the right thing by getting the facts so that you can determine the best course of action, if any.
But what if I’m wrong?
No harm done. Our services are completely confidential, and no one but you needs to know. You also will gain a peace of mind that you didn’t have before.
Can they find out if they are being investigated?
Only if you want them to know. We only release information concerning an investigation to the paying client or at our client’s request or by court order.
What is surveillance?
Surveillance is the use of various means – photography, video, GPS tracking, – to document where a person goes, who they see, what they do, and when they do it. Domestic surveillance is initiated to determine if a partner is cheating or engaging in behavior that may be harmful to the spouse or their children. Photos, video, and other surveillance results, coupled with the statement of the investigator, can carry great weight as evidence in Family Court proceedings.
Can I use a friend or relative to conduct surveillance?
This is never a good idea. A licensed Private Investigator is trained to look for details that a "lay person” can miss or fail to document properly. Untrained friends or family members also could be put in harm’s way. Leave this type of work to professionals.
When will I know what you discover, and how will you share this information with me?
We will have discussions, as needed, during the course of the investigation to keep you abreast of developments or to ask any questions. At the conclusion of the investigation, we will work with you on the most secure communication option for providing you with our findings.

I have worked with Robbie over 20 years, and there is no finer, more dependable, more dedicated individual than Robbie Jones when it comes to getting the job done in the most professional manner. If the Sheriff’s Office ever needed assistance, Robbie was the ‘go-to, Johnny-on-the-spot.’ He has earned my trust and my respect.
